PM: Leaders and Spokespersons Should Not Regard Journalists as Enemies

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has told leaders, spokespersons, and relevant authorities not to regard journalists as enemies.

Speaking during the fifth annual meeting with the media on Saturday evening, 14 January 2023, the Prime Minister stressed that “It is a mistake to consider the media enemies."

Prime Minister Hun Sen also particularly praised the media for participating in spreading his message during the major Covid-19 outbreak in Cambodia, allowing for the widespread dissemination of measures to prevent the further spread of the virus. He also noted how the media helps to share information on the prevention of gambling and other crimes in the country.

Over 4,000 journalists were present at the annual meeting between the Prime Minister and the media on 14 January 2023.
